LG Tribute Monarch was launched in 2021 with Android 10. It’s 2022 and it’s still not updated to Android 11. As Monarch is an entry-level smartphone we shouldn’t keep our hopes high.
On Tribute Monarch after a recent security update, the old FRP bypass method doesn’t work. We need to do a little modification to bypass the Google account & reach the home screen.
Let’s see how to bypass the FRP lock on Tribute Monarch in 2022 without using a computer, SIM card, Bluetooth device, or app –
I forgot the Tribute Monarch lock screen password. To bypass the lock screen I did a hard reset using the volume down + power keys.
The factory reset took a few minutes and then I reached the “Welcome” page as shown above.
Let’s begin the device setup.
Click the forward arrow and then hit “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Are you locked out on your LG Tribute Monarch due to a forgotten password, PIN, or pattern? Don’t worry, we can easily bypass the lock screen using the latest hack. On Tribute Monarch, it doesn’t let you even power off or restart the phone without unlocking the screen.
First of all, let’s try to bypass the screen lock without doing a hard reset. Let’s see if can get some account recovery option in the form of “Forgot password” or “Google Account sign-in”.

How to bypass lock screen on LG Tribute Monarch
I’ve forgotten the lock screen password on my Tribute Monarch. Let’s try to restore the phone to a working state.
I kept trying and after 5 failed attempts there was a wait time of 30 seconds.
I kept on trying. Even after 50 tries, I didn’t get a recovery option in the form of “Forgot password” or “Google account” recovery.
This makes one thing clear. There is no way to bypass the lock screen on Tribute Monarch without doing a reset. We need to boot our phone into recovery mode to hard reset the phone.
To boot our Tribute Monarch into recovery mode we need to power off the phone.
It’s not letting me even turn off the phone. It throws an error – “Unlock the phone to power off”.
It doesn’t allow to even restart the phone.
Now, the only option left is to force restart our Tribute Monarch.
To force restart your phone –
Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons until the phone restarts.
During the restart, when LG Tribute Monarch shows up on the screen, release the power key and hold it again. Do not leave the volume down button.
Your Tribute Monarch must be now in the Recovery Mode.
The Factory Data Reset screen with a white background is the Recovery Mode.
We are going to use the volume rocker and power button in this mode.
Move down using the volume down button from “No (Exit)” to “Yes”. Now, press the power key to confirm “Yes”.
Again move down from “No” to “Yes” and hit the power button to begin the factory data reset.
The phone data is getting erased. We need to wait for a few minutes.
Now, we have reached the “Welcome” page.
Use the forward arrow to move ahead.
Keep the new second screen with or without a notch and click “Next”.
Now, we need to connect to the internet via Wifi or Mobile data.
It’s checking for updates. Let’s wait for a few minutes.
Hit “Don’t copy” on the “Copy apps & data page”.
Once again we are on the screen lock verification page. This time we have a second option – “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”. Select this alternate option to proceed further.
This brings us to the Google Verification page. It’s asking to sign in to the previously synced Google account on this device.
If you remember the Google account credentials, sign in to your account and finish the setup wizard by following the on-screen prompts.

How to bypass Google Verification on LG Tribute Monarch
Tap the blank field – “Email or Phone” to get access to the keyboard.
On the keyboard, there is a keyboard icon at the bottom-right corner. Click on it.
This brings out the “Default keyboard” pop-up as shown above.
Tap “Settings” to reach the “Manage Keyboards” page.
Now, select the first option i.e. “Gboard”.
We are now on the Gboard Settings page.
Tap the “3 dots” icon at the top-right corner and select “Help & feedback”.
This time we are on the support page.
Hit the “Describe your issue” blank field and type delete
Select the first search result – “Delete or disable apps on Android”.
On the next page, we need to click on “Tap to go to Application Settings” as shown above.
This will take us to the App Info page.
Scroll down and select “Google”.
Hit “Open” to launch the Google app.
Choose “NO THANKS” to skip Google sign-in.
Type settings in the search bar.
Among the search results select “Settings app with the icon” as marked in the above screenshot.
This brings us to the Settings app.
Select “Fingerprints” and then “Next”.
We are now on the “Select screen lock” page.
Let’s add an easy to remember screen lock PIN, Pattern or Password.
This new screen lock will replace the old lock.
I’m adding an easy to remember screen PIN 1234.
Confirm the PIN and hit OK
A text flashes at the bottom – “Screen lock has been changed”.
We have successfully replaced the old screen password with this new PIN.
Let’s use this PIN to bypass the Google verification screen.
Use the back button and keep going back until you’re on the first page of the setup wizard.
I’ve reached the Welcome screen.
Hit the Forward button to move ahead.
Click “Next” on the “New second screen” page.
Choose “Don’t copy” on the next page.
Once again we are on the Screen lock verification page.
Verify with the Screen PIN we added a few steps ago i.e. 1234
We have successfully verified the screen lock PIN.
We get the “Skip” option on the Google sign-in page.
Skip the Google account setup to proceed further.
Accept Google Services terms and conditions.
Hit “OK” on the “Review additional apps” page.
On the Legal documents page – tick the “I agree” check box and click “Done”.
This brings us to the LG Tribute Monarch Home screen.
We have successfully bypassed the lock screen on Tribute Monarch.
