There are different kinds of reset functions on the LG Tribute Empire. Based on the severity of the issue we have to choose between Soft Reset, Factory Reset, Hard Reset & Network Settings Reset.
The Internal storage / SD Card data is not affected while performing a Soft Reset & Network Settings Reset. A Hard Reset / Factory Reset wipes all the apps, games and media from the internal memory. It doesn’t affect the data stored on the SD Card.
In this post, we are going to learn how to make the most of them while troubleshooting. So Let’s start with the Soft Reset –
LG Tribute Empire Soft Reset
A Soft Reset is a normal restart and works most of the time to fix common issues such as overheating, app crash, lagging, freezing, etc.
First Method – Regular Restart
To restart your Tribute Empire –
- Long-Press the Power Button.
- Among the listed options, tap “Power off and restart”.
- Now hit “RESTART” and wait for the phone to boot again.
Second Method – Force Restart
In case your Tribute Empire is frozen and the power button is not responding then we need to force restart the phone.
As Tribute Empire comes with a removable battery, we have to pull the battery to turn off the phone.
You can refer to the above screenshots to remove the battery.
Now reinstall the battery, replace the back cover and turn on the phone using Power Button.
LG Tribute Empire Factory Reset via Settings
NOTE: Take a complete backup of your internal storage. It will be wiped completely after the factory data reset.
First of all, we have to open settings.
Pull down the notification panel and click the “Settings icon”.
Choose the “General” tab and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Hit “Restart & reset” then “Factory data reset” as shown above.
On the “Factory data reset” page, tap “RESET PHONE” at the bottom-right corner.
Now hit “Delete all”.
Finally, tap “RESET” to initiate the factory reset process.
After erasing the data the phone reboots and lands to the “Welcome” screen of the setup wizard.
Click “Arrow” to move ahead.
“SKIP” the Insert SIM Card page.
On the Wifi setup page, either connect to your Wi-Fi network or tap “NEXT” to proceed further.
Tap “NEXT” on the “Date & Time”. It gets updated automatically when connected to the internet.
On the next page, Enter your Name or just hit “NEXT”.
Now we are on the Screen lock setup page.
Select “Not Now”. The screen lock can be added later as well.
Now we are on the Google Services page.
Tap “More” and then hit “Accept” to agree to the Google Services terms and conditions.
The final page of the setup wizard is the “Legal documents” page.
Tick the checkbox where it says “I agree to all LG Legal documents” and hit “MORE”.
Now tick the “I agree” checkbox and tap “DONE” to finish the setup wizard.
We have completed the Factory Data Reset and landed on the Tribute Empire Home Screen.
LG Tribute Empire Hard reset using Volume UP & Power Button
It’s preferable to perform a Factory Reset via Settings. However, if you have forgotten your Screen lock PIN, Pattern or Password, then Settings won’t be accessible.
In such a case, we need to use the Hardware Buttons to reset the phone.
First of all, we have to turn off the phone.
- Long-Press the Power button and select “Power off” to turn off your Tribute Empire.
- Press Volume Up + Power Button to turn on the phone.
- As soon as the LG logo appears on the screen (or when the phone vibrates), release the power button and hold it again.
- Don’t release the Volume UP key during the whole process.
- Keep holding the Volume UP & Power Button until you’re on the “Factory data reset” screen. This is also called Recovery Mode.
In the Recovery Mode, we have to use the Volume rocker to move UP & Down. The Power button is used to select an option.
We have to move down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” with Volume Down Button.
Now select this option with the Power Button.
Once again move down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” and press the Power key to initiate Factory data reset.
After erasing the phone, we will land on the Welcome Screen of the setup wizard.
Repeat the steps as done before during “Factory Reset via Settings”.
The only difference is that you’ll be asked to Sign in to the last Synced Google account on this device.
If you don’t remember your Google Account Credentials, then you can Bypass the Google Verification Screen as per the below tutorial –

LG Tribute Empire Reset Network Settings
The last reset option we are going to test is the Network Settings Reset. This can fix most of the network-related issues including Wifi & Bluetooth Problems.
To Reset Network Settings, open Settings and select the “General” tab.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit “Restart & reset” as shown above.
Now tap “Network settings reset”
Click “RESET SETTINGS” located at the bottom-right corner.
Once again tap “Reset Settings” to initiate the process.
When done, a confirmation message flashes at the bottom of the screen.
It says “Network settings have been reset”.
