The Glass back on LG Stylo 6 gives it a premium look & the huge 6.8 inches display gives it the same look like the current flagship device LG Velvet. Only when you delve in deeper you get to know it’s a budget smartphone with a luxurious outer shell.
You cannot keep your expectations high at a budget price of $179. It even misses the common smartphone features such as Face Unlock and Notification light. On top of that, it uses a mediocre entry-level Mediatek P35 processor.
For lag-free Screen Mirroring, the phone should have a decent processor. Let’s find out whether the Stylo 6 offers Miracast support or not –
Does the LG Stylo 6 have Screen Mirroring/Miracast?
The phone should have Miracast support for Screen Mirroring. We need to look for the “Cast” option in Settings.
Let’s open the Settings app on our Stylo 6.
I searched for the “Cast” option everywhere on the phone but couldn’t find it anywhere.
So, how to mirror the Stylo 6 screen to the TV without the Cast option?
We need to use a 3rd party app to cast Stylo 6 screen to Roku, Firestick, or to any other Android Smart TV. Let’s see how to do that –

I’m using Firestick for Screen Casting.
We need to make sure that both the phone and the Firestick are connected to the same Wifi network.
My Amazon Firestick is connected to the “HomeWifi-4G” network. Let’s connect out Stylo 6 to the same Wifi network.
Open the “Settings” app located on the Stylo 6 home screen.
Go to “Network & Internet”.
Turn on Wifi and connect to the same Wifi network as your Roku/Firestick etc.
Now, we need to download the Casting app from the Play Store.
Search for “Cast to TV” on the Play Store.
Install and open this app.
It’s searching for devices in the vicinity.
Our Firestick is detected as “Philips’s Fire TV Stick”. Let’s tap it to begin casting.
We can Mirror the media content stored in the device storage to the TV screen.
Hit the “3 bar” icon for more options.
We can cast videos, photos, and audio files stored on the device.
It also allows us to stream videos across the web.
First of all, let’s try to Cast an offline video stored in Stylo 6.
When we tap on a video file, it buffers for a moment and starts playing on the TV screen.
It buffers for a second and starts playing.

The video playback was quite smooth.
We get the video control options on the app screen.
Likewise, we can cast audio files to the TV screen.

Now, let’s stream a Youtube video via the “Cast to TV” app.

Play a video and look for the “Red play button” at the bottom right corner. It allows us to choose the video resolution.
There are 2 options 720p & 360p. Let’s select the first option.

Screen Mirroring is different from Screen Casting. As the name suggests, mirroring clones the phone screen to the TV. Whatever you do on the phone is mirrored to the TV screen.
We can only mirror the Stylo 6 screen to the TV via Chromecast. As it uses the Google Home app the Cast option is not needed.
Let’s see how to mirror the Stylo 6 to a TV via Chromecast –

We need to turn on Location access to setup Chromecast.

Along with the location, we also need to turn on Bluetooth for better connectivity.
Now, it’s searching for Chromecast devices in the vicinity.
A Chromecast device is found with the device id Chormecast5976.
Hit “Yes” to select this Chromecast device.
Now, it’s connecting to Chromecast.
We need to match the code to make sure we are connected to the right Chromecast device.
