In this post, we are going to find & fix all the issues related to the LG Stylo 6 –

1. LG Stylo 6 Screen Problems

LG Stylo 6 uses a huge 6.8 inches display. Owing to its huge size and a glass back it feels somewhat slippery to hold. You should always use it with a case else it’s prone to damage from either of the sides.

The black screen issue is a known Stylo 6 problem. There can be multiple reasons for a black screen such as bad LCD, bad power button, software issue, water damage, physical damage, etc.

Let’s try to fix the LG Stylo 6 screen issues with the help of the below troubleshooting guide –

2. LG Stylo 6 app drawer/menu – How to get back

The default Home launcher on Stylo 6 has no app drawer button. All the apps are placed on the home screen itself. This looks like a copy of the iPhone.

3. LG Stylo 6 stuck on boot screen

If your Stylo 6 is stuck on the Firmware update or boot screen, you should try to force restart the phone using the volume down & power buttons.

Press and hold the volume down & power keys for 10 seconds or until the phone restarts.

If this fails to restore your phone, you need to flash stock firmware using the LGUP flash tool. You can download the Stylo 6 firmware from the below link –

The internal storage space is increased from 32GB to 64GB on the Stylo 6, as compared to its predecessor Stylo 5. However, the minimum storage space should be 128GB as per today’s standards

A lot of space is consumed by the system memory and the actual available space gets reduced. Moreover, the apps and games occupy the internal storage space so an SD card cannot be of much help.

To cater to this issue, we can move apps to the SD card by partitioning it as internal storage. This feature is known as Adoptable storage.  You can learn the detailed procedure as follows –

  1. I’m having the same issue as Sarah. I can be doing one thing like scrolling my apps and the navigation bar comes down. Also if I try to type something in the search bar it doesn’t type just one letter, like I can press t and ttt types in when i only hit it once. Sometimes when I’m texting it doesn’t respond. I’m guessing that it’s something to do with the touch screen and with no way to recalibrate it, I feel there is no fix for it.

  2. I am also having the same problem as Sarah. My phone is having the same issues and I have restarted it so many times I have lost count its really frustrating. I also can’t trade my phone so is there any solution to fixing this issue?

  3. I’ve also had the same problem. Mine started after the last update. Even when I use the keyboard the the screen changes and a black curtain shoots down from the top. Sometimes I press t and a different letter pops up or the phone wants to change keyboard layout. Very annoying

  4. I have been experiencing an issue similar to Sarah above. This has been incredibly frustrating. Fortunately I am a gamer. One of my games let me see what is happening visually during that glitch. The game displays every tap onscreen as a short lived little orange block that only lasts for about half a second. What I witnessed was that at some points, taps would repeat 3-5 times in rapid succession, other times, when I would tap the screen at one location, my tap would be replicated at random in various spots across the screen, causing windows to open or close or buttons to press without my intent. Finally, I would at times notice ghost touches all across the screen even when I would not even be touching the screen. Sometimes these ghost touches would be scattered and slow (20-50 touches per second), and other times, the would be highly clustered, and or occuring at a very high rate (250-1000 touches per second). I know this to be a hardware issue, because it is inconsistent, it is not program specific, meaning it occurs regardless of what app I am using or in, even in the settings page. It sometimes goes away for days at a time, and other times it is almost constant. Putting device on standby and immediately returning to activity sometimes fixes this, short term, (minutes at best), even full shut down and restart does not stop issue for long. I have cleared cache, cleaned up memory, viruscanned, checked for known malware, clean….i also regularly clean my screen with a dry microfiber cloth, so its not grease or oil or a defect caused by screen cleaners….

Please define this problem, and fix it.

  5. My Lg Stylo 6 is having a weird problem. It will be fine for a moment and then certain things would happen on its own. I can be swiping and then the navigation or the search bar (when you drag down from the top of the screen) goes down on its own. I am not doing it. And it does that a few times then shuts off then turns on again. Its also slow. I tried deleting apps, getting more space on my phone. I reset my phone about 3 times and its still doing the same thing. I checked to see if there was a virus with multiple different malware apps and they detected nothing. And since LG has discontinued, my carrier doesnt sell them any longer. I cant trade it out. Someone please help.

  6. I bought my Stylo 6 in February and I started having issues in June. My phone freezes or glitches all the time. I have done the “volume down and power off” at least 4 times a day since then (we are now at the end of July). It is beyond annoying. I have even uninstalled certain apps I thought could possibly be causing this but it is still doing it. Not sure what else to do. I don’t want to do a factory reset either.

  7. I have a Static Screen on my Stylo 6. How do I fix this? I did a forced restart but still static… Is there anything I can do?
