LG Stylo 6 was launched with Android 10 out of the box. It’s still not updated to Android 11. However, after the recent LG Stylo 6 August 2021 security update, the earlier FRP bypass exploit is fixed.
So, now we need to use a new method to bypass the LG Stylo 6 lock screen if you’ve forgotten the PIN, Pattern, or Password.
In this post, we are going to learn how to unlock LG Stylo 6 when locked out. Let’s begin the troubleshooting –
How to unlock LG Stylo 6 without Password / LG Stylo 6 Bypass Screen lock, Pattern lock, PIN, Password
You can see I’m locked out on my LG Stylo 6. I don’t remember the lock screen password.
To bypass the lock screen we need to reset the phone via Recovery mode.
Let’s power off our Stylo 6 to boot into recovery mode.
It’s not letting me turn off the phone without unlocking the screen.
The same thing happened when I tried to restart the phone.
Our last option is to force restart the Stylo 6.
Press and hold volume down + power keys until the phone restarts.
During the restart, when LG Stylo 6 appears on the screen, release the power key and hold it again. Don’t leave the volume down button.
Now keep holding both the keys until you reach the “Factory Data Reset” screen as shown below.
We are now in Recovery Mode. The touchscreen doesn’t work in this mode. We need to use the volume rocker and power button.
Use the volume down button to go down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes”. Now press the power key.
Repeat the steps.
Again go down from “No” to “Yes” and hit the Power button to begin the hard reset.
The Stylo 6 is getting erased. We need to wait for a few minutes.
After a while, I’ve reached the “Welcome” screen.
Tap the “forward arrow” to proceed.
On the next page, we need to choose the “New Second Screen” style. Choose your preferred mode and tap “Next”.
Now, to proceed further, we need to connect our Stylo 6 to the internet.
I’ve connected my phone to the “Home Wifi” network.
Now, it’s checking for updates. This process takes a few minutes.
Click “Don’t copy” on the following page.
This brings us to the screen lock verification page. Here we need to draw the correct pattern. I don’t remember the pattern so I’ll choose the option – “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”.
Now, we are on the “Verify your account” screen. This is the Google verification page.
To get past this screen we have to sign in with the previously synced Google account on this device.
Sign in with your Google account and follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup wizard.
In case, you don’t remember the account credentials, then follow the below hack to bypass the FRP lock –
How to bypass Google Verification on LG Stylo 6 after August 2021 security update
On the “Verify your account” page tap the blank field “Email or phone”.
The keyboard pops out on the screen.
Tap the “small keyboard icon” at the bottom-right corner of the keyboard.
A new window appears on the screen – “Default keyboard”.
Tap “Settings” at the bottom-right corner to reach the “Manage keyboards” page.
Now, select “Gboard” as shown above.
On the next page, tap the “3 dots” icon on the top-right corner and select “Help & feedback”.
Now, we are on the “Support” page.
Select the first option – “Delete or disable apps on Android”.
On the next page, choose “Tap to go to Application settings”.
We are now on the “App Info” page.
Scroll down and select “Settings”.
Now, tap “Open” to reach the Settings app.
We are now in the Settings.
Go to “Fingerprints” and hit “Next”.
This brings us to the “Select Screen Lock” page.
Here we can add a new PIN, Pattern, or Password.
This new lock will replace the old screen lock.
I’m adding 1234 as the new PIN.
Enter the PIN twice and hit “OK” to confirm.
The Screen lock has been changed.
Now, let’s go back and use this new PIN to bypass the google verification.
Keep going back with the back button until you reach the first page.
Tap the forward arrow and hit “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Click “Don’t copy” on the following page.
After the recent August 2021 Stylo 6 security update, it skips the screen lock verification page & directly takes us to the “Verify your account” screen.
We need the screen lock verification page to enter the new PIN 1234. Let’s hard reset the phone via recovery mode to get back to this page.
Let’s power off the phone and put it into recovery mode.
Long-press the power button and tap “Power off” to turn off your Stylo 6.
Once the phone is off, press the volume down + power button to turn on the phone.
When LG Stylo 6 appears on the screen, release the power key for a moment and hold it again. (Don’t leave the volume down key).
Now, keep holding both the keys until you reach the “Factory Data Reset” page.
In the recovery mode, go down from “No (Exit)” to “Yes” with the volume down button. Now press the power key once.
Repeat the steps. Again move down from “No” to “Yes” and click the Power key to begin the reset.
After a while, we are once again on the “Welcome” page.
Tap the forward button to proceed.
Tap “Next” on the “New Second Screen” page.
Now, connect your phone to the internet.
Click “Don’t Copy” on the “Copy apps & data” page.
This time we get the screen lock verification page.
Enter the PIN we added a few steps ago i.e. 1234 and click “OK”.
The PIN verification is successful. We have successfully bypassed the Google verification screen.
This time there is a “Skip” option on the Google sign-in page.
Hit “Skip” to proceed further.
Now, accept the Google services terms and conditions.
Tap “OK” on the following page.
Tick the “I agree” checkbox and hit “Done” on the “Legal Documents” page.
We have successfully landed on the Stylo 6 home screen thus bypassing the lock screen.
