LG Stylo 5 offers 5 kinds of screen locks. Fingerprint & face recognition, are secondary screen locks. They are backed up with a primary lock such as PIN, Pattern, or password.
However, if you forget the primary screen lock, you don’t get a recovery option. It’s always better to note down the lock screen credentials during setup.
If you’re already locked out on Stylo 5, let’s find a way out to recover our phone back to the working state.
First of all, let’s try to recover our phone without doing a reset –
How to bypass LG Stylo 5 lock screen without reset
I’m locked out on my LG Stylo 5. I don’t remember the lock screen password.
Let’s keep trying. Hopefully, it’ll give a recovery option in the form of “Forgot password” or “Google account sign-in”.

After 5 failed attempts, we need to wait for 30 seconds.
Even after 50 failed attempts, there is no account recovery option. Only the wait time keeps increasing.
We are out of luck, there is no way to bypass the LG Stylo 5 lock screen without reset.
To reset the phone, we need to boot our phone into Recovery Mode. Let’s turn off our phone to get access to the Recovery Mode.
I’m unable to power off the phone without unlocking the screen. It throws an error – “Unlock the phone to power off”.
So, now the only option left is to restart the phone.
Long-press the power button and select “Power off and restart”.
Tap “RESTART” to confirm your action.
Now, immediately hold the volume down and power keys.
During the restart, when LG Stylo 5 appears on the screen, release the power button and hold it again (don’t release the volume down key). Keep holding both the keys until you reach the “Factory data reset” screen.
This Factory Data Reset screen is the “Recovery Mode”.
The touch doesn’t work in this mode.
Use the volume rocker to move up & down. Select an option with the power key.
To reset the phone, move down from “No(Exit)” to “Yes” using the volume down button. Now click the Power key to select the “Yes” option.
Repeat the above steps.
Again move down from No to Yes and hit the Power key to begin the factory reset process.
After the reset, we have landed on the “Welcome” page of the setup wizard.
Hit the “Forward button” to move ahead.
Now, connect to the internet via Wifi or Mobile data.
It’s “Checking for updates”, we need to wait for a while.
Tap “DON’T” COPY” on the next page.
This brings us to the Screen lock verification page. I don’t remember the lock screen password. Let’s use the alternate option “USE MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT INSTEAD”.
We are now on the Google Verification page. To proceed further, we need to sign-in to the previously synced Google account on this device.
Sign in to your Google account and follow the on-screen prompts to reach the Stylo 5 home screen.
If you don’t remember the Google account credentials, follow the latest hack to bypass the Google lock on LG Stylo 5 –

Let’s divide the FRP bypass process into 4 parts –
STEP 1: Lock a SIM using another phone and insert this locked SIM into Stylo 5
I’m using LG K40 to lock a MetroPCS SIM Card.
If using an LG phone –
Go to Settings > General Tab > Lock Screen & Security.
Scroll down and select “Set up SIM card lock”.
Now, tap “Lock SIM Card”.
The default MetroPCS/T-mobile SIM pin is 1234
Enter 1234 and hit “OK” if using a Metro SIM.
A confirmation text flashed on the screen – “SIM card lock enabled”.
Now, we need to place this locked SIM into Stylo 5.
Use a SIM Ejector tool to remove the SIM tray on your Stylo 5.
Place the locked SIM in its respective slot and push the SIM tray inside.
STEP 2: Use another phone to send an image file via Bluetooth
It’s asking for the PIN code. Enter the SIM PIN 1234 and hit the “tick icon”.
A “Not signed in” notification appears on the screen.
We need to swipe down the screen – starting from the “Not signed in” notification towards the bottom of the screen. Follow the arrow in the above screenshot.
A few quick access icons will appear on the top. Long-press the “Bluetooth icon” to launch the Bluetooth page.
Turn on Bluetooth to receive an image file from another device.
Once again I’m using LG K40 to send an image file to Stylo 5 via Bluetooth.
Open the Gallery app and use the “Share icon” to send a picture.
Select the sharing medium as Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth when prompted.
Select the Bluetooth device “LG Stylo 5”.
The file is being sent to Stylo 5.
Hit “ACCEPT” to receive the file on your Stylo 5.
Now, hit the “3 dots icon” and choose “Received files”.
Tap the image file to open it.
STEP 3: Get access to the screen lock page to add a PIN, Pattern, or Password
We need to use the “Photos app” to open this file.
Tap “Photos” to open the picture.
Give access to the Photos app by hitting “ALLOW”.
The image file is now open. Hit the “Share icon” to send this file.
Select the sharing medium as “Email”.
Give necessary access to the “Email” app by tapping “ALLOW”.
Now, we need to select the Email provider.
Choose the last option i.e. “Other”.
Type any Email in the Email Address field just to enable the “MANUAL SETUP” option. Now, select “MANUAL SETUP”.
Choose the Account type as Microsoft Exchange and hit “NEXT”.
Now, scroll down to the bottom of the “Server Settings” page.
Tap “Add” to add a “Client certificate”.
An Attention pop-up appears on the screen. It reads – we need to add a secure screen lock to proceed further.
Hit “CHANGE” to accept the request.
This brings us to the “Select Screen lock” page.
Now, we are going to add a new screen PIN, pattern, or Password.
This new lock will replace the old screen lock.
Let’s add a Screen PIN.
Select “No, thanks” on the “Secure start-up” page and hit “NEXT”.
I’ve added 1234 as the new Screen PIN.
Confirm this PIN and hit “OK”.
The Screen lock has been changed. Let’s use this new PIN to bypass the Stylo 5 Google verification screen.
Use the back button to go back to the “Welcome” page.
STEP 4: Go back to the Welcome page & finish the Setup Wizard
Once again we have reached the Welcome Screen.
Let’s proceed further.
Tap “NEXT” on the internet connection page.
Hit “DON’T COPY” on the next page.
Once again we have landed on the Screen lock verification page.
Let’s verify with the PIN we added a few steps ago i.e. 1234
The PIN verification was successful. We have bypassed the Google verification screen.
Tap “Skip” at the bottom-right corner to skip Google account setup.
If you wish, you can also add a Google account. There is no need to add the last-synced Google account.
In the next step, we need to accept the Google Services Terms and conditions.
Now, tap the “I agree” checkbox on the “Legal Documents” page.
Hit “DONE” to finish the setup wizard to reach the Stylo 5 home screen.
We have successfully bypassed the lock screen on LG Stylo 5.
