How to turn on USB Debugging on LG Stylo 5 LMQ720
The USB Debugging option is found under “Developer Options” in the settings app.
By default, the Developer mode is kept hidden. So, to turn on USB debugging, first, we need to enable “Developer Options”.
Open the Settings app located on your LG Stylo 5 home screen as shown above.
On the Settings page, scroll down to the bottom and select “About phone”.
Now, open “Software info”.
On the “Software Info” screen, we need to tap the “Build number” 7 times to become a developer.
After tapping the build number multiple times, a confirmation text flashes at the bottom – “You are now a developer!”.
Now, use the back button to go 2 steps back from the “Software Info” screen to the first page of the Settings app.
On the Settings screen, you’ll notice a new option at the bottom – “Developer Options”.
Click on it to open. Accept the warning to proceed further.
Scroll down and look for “USB debugging” on the “Developer Options” page.
Turn on USB Debugging as shown above. Hit “OK” to approve the “Allow USB Debugging” request.
Now, we can connect our LG Stylo 5 to the PC to install ADB drivers.
Wait for the driver installation to complete. We need to install the ADB Interface driver for USB debugging.
Now, let’s check the ADB connection using the “Minimal ADB & Fastboot” tool.
You can download the setup file from the below link –
Install & run “Minimal ADB & Fastboot”.
It launched the cmd window. Let’s write ADB commands to check the ADB connection.
Type the command line adb devices and hit enter.
The output of the above command is LMQ720 unauthorized
lmq720 is the model number of LG Stylo 5. We need to authorize the connected PC for USB debugging.
Please check your LG Stylo 5 screen.
There must be an “Allow USB debugging” request on the phone screen. Click on it.
Now again write the command adb devices
This time it shows the output as LMQ720 device
